Hi! My name is Julia Grace, I am a licensed psychotherapist specializing in integrating healing arts and body based therapeutic approaches in Counseling. I provide 1:1 and group therapy to help with a variety of issues, from trauma, anxiety, depression, and addiction, to life transitions and self growth.

My creative, hands on approach can help you process challenging and traumatic events, and learn practical skills to increase resiliency, reduce stress and anxiety, decrease racing and negative thought patterns and destructive behaviors and become more present, fulfilled, and at peace with your life.

Did you know that most trauma is stored in the body and is not accessed through words? Anxiety and depression are also cause by the bodies response to stressful (or perceived as so) events and are best transformed through somatic (body) awareness.    By integrating the mind and body in therapy,  we are able to get to the root of the problem, where true, whole person healing can happen.

Working together in this integrative mind-body approach, you will have a unique opportunity to use a variety of modalities to explore themes in your life. These can include expression through visual art, music, movement, poetry, breathwork, guided visualizations, relaxation and other expressive arts techniques.

Studies have shown that the arts—particularly when integrated with mental health practices—can yield social, emotional, physical and cognitive benefits.  The nonverbal aspect of the arts transcends traditional barriers of age, ability, and culture.

There is always an element of verbal processing, and the amount of non verbal/ creative processing can vary and is attuned to your needs and wants. Each session is customized to you. I meet you in the moment, where you are at, with compassion.

No previous art or dance experience required.  This is not about being a performer or an artist or even about making art but about helping you use your body and creativity as a resource for healing and accessing your inner wisdom.

"Our healing wisdom exists within us. Our body and the creative arts are the portals in ."

Movement is the quickest, most effective way to tap into your body's wisdom. It is here, that we can access and cultivate trust in our inner wisdom and heal our body and soul.
